What genre do audiences prefer?
blog post 13 task 3
1. the three genre audiences prefer are action, horror and romantic comedy.
2. They really liked action because the films are high paces, they learn new things and their perspective on things change and the way they think changes too.
Some preferred horror movies because being scared excites them and the story lines in horror films are believable and its creates tension in the atmosphere.
A lot of people like romantic comedies because they think the story lines are cute and they like seeing a good romance happening.
3. Surprisingly not all the similar audience groups liked the same film genres because some 30 to 40 year old liked horror and comedy and the younger audience liked romantic comedies and horror and comedy.
4. The film genre i would prefer to make is and action film because i love watching them and i love the tension and thrill. My target audience would be the younger audience because i know what they would like to see and what would grab their attention.

4 TYPES OF TITLE SEQUENCES.
discrete- this is a small clip that is played before the film starts and it sets the mood and tone of the movie.
stylized- something that relies mostly on its editing to set the mood. when you see it it seems like the text is within the film.
credits over a blank screen- this is a subtle title sequence and it involves a blank screen with different coloring so you can see the writing.
narrative opening- this is someone actually speaking to the audience about the film. This is very effective because it allows the audience to make a judgement about the film.

FAVOURITE FILM TITLE SEQUENCE ANALYSIS: Jhean Capitan
BLACK SWAN ANALYSIS
My favourite film is Black Swan. It's a psychological thriller which entails a ballerina and her struggles to climb her career. The opening sequence of the films uses a discrete type of sequence.
This shows a wide shot of the main character in a white dress dancing and seemingly 'happy' as she sits in her resting position. I think it's very effective to open with a ballet dance as it shows that the film will be about her and her live of dancing, This sets the plot of the film and gives clues as to what the film will be about.
The camera then goes on to have an over-the-shoulder shot and reveals an ominous black figure walking to the main character which intrigues the audience and lets them keep watching more as they are left in the dark about this mysterious character. This also sets the mood to the film is it leaves both the main character and the audience unsettled.
The film starts the name of the directer and then goes on to credit the crew which is unusual as opening sequences normally credit the main cast before the crew. This could be due to the fact that the film wants a more genuine feel so that audience sees the cast as the actual characters rather than actors. This leads to the audience becoming more immersed in the film.
