TYPES OF TITLE SEQUENCES
- Discrete Title Sequence - separately filmed clips that are played before the film starts. It sets the tone for the rest of the film and is often known as a mini film.
- Stylised Title Sequence - something that relies mostly on editing in order to set the tone of the film. This uses texts and fonts that seem to blend into the scenes.
- Credits Over Screen - this involves a blank screen with contrast colour writing. The font and text can set the mood for the film.
- Narrative Opening - someone speaking to the audience allowing the audience to make a judgement of the main character by the tone of the main character's voice.
FAVOURITE TYPE OF OPENING
My favourite type opening would be the stylised title sequences. This is because I think it blends seamlessly into the film as well as setting the tone for the film. The stylised title sequence seems to use both credits over screen and the discrete title sequence in order to highlight the film genre and immerse the audience into the film.
